Peer to Peer

Conceived by Pier Gonella, the Italian guitar icon, Peer To Peer is a collection of recordings featuring Gonella and bassist/producer Joey Dolan. Remixed and mastered to highlight Gonella’s prowess, Peer to Peer brings the thrill of sixx-string shred to the ears of fans around the world.

Pier began playing guitar at the age of 15, following his passion for such bands as Scorpions and Deep Purple. From 1993 to 1997, Pier studied jazz guitar in Italy. This fueled his knowledge and opened a landscape that influenced the rock elements of his guitar playing. Pier studied and emulated scores of guitar heroes such as Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, Vinnie Moore, Joey Tafolla and many others of the ilk. Pier studied music theory and in June 1998, received the diploma of “Teoria and Solfeggio” at the Conservatory of Music “Nicolo’ Paganini” of Genoa.

Pier’s iconic style fueled the power-metal giants Labyrinth through a host of performances and festivals across Europe, including Gods of Metal and Metalway and took the band across Japan on a national tour. Pier is also heard recording and performing with Necrodeth, Mastercastle and the all-star band Metal Gang. He has also conceived and recorded the soundtracks to more than 150 videogames for Xplored, the Italian game producers.
